What to Expect

My services are strictly private and confidential.

01

Get in touch

Once you get in touch, I will reply as soon as possible. We can then arrange a brief, free 15-minute phone call to discuss your enquiry and consider how I may be able to help.

02

Initial consultation

If appropriate, we would then meet for an initial consultation to discuss your concerns and assess whether I may be a good fit for your child, family or relationship. If I am not best placed to help, I will do my best to signpost you to an appropriate alternative.

03

Assessment (for children & young people)

For child or adolescent referrals, I may recommend an assessment, usually involving around three sessions with the child or young person. This allows me to develop an understanding of their difficulties and consider whether psychotherapy is the most suitable intervention. It also gives them a sense of whether they would feel comfortable working with me.

04

Agreeing a way forward

Following an assessment, I usually meet with parents again to discuss recommendations and, where relevant, agree a treatment plan that is reviewed regularly. For young people and couples, one or several consultations can help us get to know each other and think together about the most useful way forward — whether that is a brief piece of work, regular sessions, ad hoc meetings, time-limited or open-ended therapy.
